ELECTRICAL ENGINEER CANDIDATE

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our firm in our New York City office. In this role you will work as the lead designer, in close consultation with our Senior Electrical Engineers, on multiple building and/or infrastructure upgrade projects at a time. The Electrical Engineer will be technically skilled, with good communication and coordination skills. Having prior electrical engineering experience is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Field survey and document electrical systems in existing buildings

Calculate power and lighting loads for building systems

Review building codes and perform code analyses

Writing Technical Basis of Design reports

Design and life safety (fire alarm) systems

Select and design layout of electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, electrical panels emergency generators and power distribution systems

Attend project meetings and represent the company in a professional manner with architects, owners and other design team professionals and contractors

Understand and live Legacy’s Mission and Core Values

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited electrical engineering program

Minimum 2 years of experience in a consulting engineering firm, a plus

General knowledge of code compliance requirements and industry standards

Strong organizational, prioritization, decision making and analytical skills

Possess strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasive and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and in a highly collaborative team environment

Ability to consistently set goals and meet deadlines and adapt to flexible responsibilities

Ability to meet and exceed client expectations

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software, a plus

LEED Certification is a plus

Certifications on areas of expertise are preferred

JOB CLASSIFICATION AND SCHEDULED WORK HOURS:

Full Time Salaried Exempt Employee.

Standard workweek is Monday-Friday.  Minimum 8 working hours/day (40 hours/week Monday-Friday) within the firm’s hours of operation of 8:00a.m.-7:00p.m. You may be required to work extra hours to meet client’s demands and project delivery target dates.

Travel to client meetings and worksites are required.
